If taking antibiotics, antiparasitics, antifungals, or probiotic supplements (acidophilus, etc.), it is recommended that you wait a minimum of 14 days after your last dose before beginning the test; 28 days may be preferred after antibiotics have been utilized.

For H. pylori add-on testing, discontinuation of PPIs, antibiotics, and bismuth is recommended.

Unless directed otherwise by your provider, discontinue aspirin and other NSAIDs (i.e. ibuprofen), rectal suppositories, enemas, activated charcoal, bismuth, betaine HCl, digestive enzymes, antacids, laxatives, mineral oil, castor oil, and bentonite clay.

We do not suggest collecting during an acute gastrointestinal infectious illness.

Plan Your Collection
Use a calendar to plan your specimen collection. Ship Monday thru Friday and avoid US holidays which may cause delays. Please return specimens within 24 hours after collection.
SIBO Testing Collection Instructions

n limit diet to only: meat/poultry/fish/seafood that is not cured or brined, plain steamed white rice, eggs, clear meat broth (no bone/ cartilage or vegetables), fats/oils (coconut, olive, vegetable oils, butter, or lard), salt and pepper (no other herbs/spices), weak black coffee and/or weak black tea (no sweeteners or cream, no green or herbal teas), plain water (no mineral water or water with additives) Do not take probiotics.

Do not use if you are allergic to lactulose or on a galactose/ lactose restricted diet. Diabetics should proceed with caution.

4. Follow the breath collection steps for each tube.
5. When you have collected all necessary tubes, enter your collection times and activate your test at gdx.net/activate.
